The real “home run” air purifiers, in my opinion, are the Energy Star-approved ones, or those certified as energy-efficient by the Energy Protection Agency. Models with this mark are not only better for the environment, releasing fewer pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions, but also are easier on your wallet. This isn’t just conjecture. According to Energy Star, since verified air purifiers consume less energy, they’ll also save you money over time on your energy bill.

Levoit is known for their top-of-the-line HEPA purifiers, which use triple filtration to rid air of pollutants, smoke, dander and allergens. (They're also designed to be whisper-quiet, emitting noise as low as 25 decibels, or approximately the sound of breathing).

This is designed to purify medium sized rooms up to 300 square feet.
Promising review: "It's crazy to think, but it's absolutely true that this air purifier has been life changing not only for myself but also my son.
My entire life, I've been breathing through one nostril. My son too is always congested. Our home is spotlessly clean. Within a week of purchasing this purifier, (and I do run it with the charcoal filter) both my son and I have been able to breathe freely through both nostrils. I would not buy another machine because this has a washable filter, and the regular fan speed consumes 4 watts, dleep 2 watts, so it really costs nothing to run versus other machines that you have to buy expensive filters and consume 10 to 15 times more electricity multiplied by 24/7/365.
If there's something I'd change on this machine as a manufacturer, I would have a memory setting for the last fan speed before powering off and get rid of the useless brightness function and just supply dim lights.
