On the supplier side, things are becoming clearer at this time of year, when Apple is finalizing the test productions of its next iPhone. According to The Electricthe firm would have terminated almost all of its contracts with the Chinese BOE concerning the supply of the OLED screens of the iPhone 13 after discovering design changes. Also it seems unlikely that this will happen for the iPhone 14. As a reminder, BOE had been supplying 6.1-inch panels since last year, but would have delivered only one
small amountproducts to Apple over the past four months. At the beginning, the reasons cited related to the shortage of integrated circuits ; but it would seem that BOE has modified the design of its OLED panels which no longer corresponded to the specifications of Cupertino (which would have taken it rather badly).
