We were waiting for the Pixel 6a and the Pixel Watch, we finally got a taste of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. A big surprise at the Google I/O 2022 after 1h45 of a fairly unhurried conference. All the art of One More Thing…

A design by Pixel

After years of searching, Google has therefore fixed its signature design! The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are very similar to the previous generation, including this horizontal photo module that crosses the back of the phones from side to side. The glass of the Pixel 6 nevertheless gives way here to a piece of recycled aluminum, which gives it a rather premium look.

We note that the cameras are included in an oblong shape for the wide-angle and the ultra-wide-angle and that the telephoto of the Pixel 7 Pro is slightly separated. Google promises to definethe next standard in photographywith his phones. Given Google’s history in this area, it’s quite promising.

New SoC

Google obviously hasn’t revealed the data sheet for the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, but we already know that it’s a new generation of Google Tensor SoCs that will drive everything. We hope it’s a little more powerful, but its great strength obviously lies in the management of artificial intelligence algorithms for voice recognition, computational photography and video.

Obviously, the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will natively ship Android 13. The official announcement will take place this fall, but we can hope for additional details by then.
