Week 3 trade value big board

If you recall in past fantasy football seasons here at The Athletic, the rest-of-season Big Board rankings and trade value chart were separate entities. Well, we’re doing something different this year, combining Brandon Funston’s rankings with Austin Mock’s trade value chart, essentially killing two birds with one stone. And we added a downloadable version of the chart at the bottom of this column.

This chart (board?) is meant to be used as a general player valuation guide for the basis of fantasy football trade negotiations in 1QB, half-PPR formats. Of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and certainly readers will find disagreements with some of the valuations here. That’s fine — again, this is just another tool at your disposal as you try to determine a deal that might work for you in your league. That said, before we get to the chart, here are Funston’s explanations for some of the biggest value differences on this board compared to the industry consensus (ECR).

Players I believe in who should be in your lineups going forward:

  • Rams RB Kyren Williams (The backfield is all his now and Sean McVay is doing wonders with this offense. Can get it down on the ground or through the air in the receiving game. Think we have a possible top 12, RB1 season in our future)
  • Commanders RB Brian Robinson Jr. (I can copy and paste above, but man did he look great this past week. Bye-bye, Antonio Gibson — B-Rob is the captain now. He was a steal in the eighth and ninth rounds of drafts)
  • Texans WR Nico Collins (Speaking of steals on the draft board in those middle rounds, I think we are witnessing the breakout season from a receiver we will be drafting in the first three rounds next year. The targets were there this week and the game script was perfect again. C.J. Stroud looks capable enough and this team will have to throw on a weekly basis to keep up. Perfect WR3 for your fantasy team.
  • Lions WR Josh Reynolds (13 targets, 146 yards and two touchdowns the first two weeks. He’s also the clear WR2 in this offense and that’s not changing any time soon. Even when Jameson Williams returns, Reynolds isn’t going anywhere. He was barely drafted but now can slide into your weekly flex spot)
  • Patriots TE Hunter Henry (13 targets through the first two weeks, has the chemistry with Mac Jones and is on his way to a top-eight fantasy season at the position. He’s their go-to guy in the red zone and will be a top target every week. If you waited on tight end in your draft and got him late or scooped him off waivers, my hat tips to you)
  • Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (Bonus pick!! Did you all see the difference between Warren and the not-for-long starter Najee Harris, who was out there running in mud? I would have Warren in my lineups going forward every week because the backfield will be led by him very shortly and even in a 50/50 split Warren is a weapon in the pass game. He’s in RB2 territory already and just might make a run at a top-12 season when given the volume to do so)

The Cincinnati Bengals signed quarterback AJ McCarron to the practice squad, the team announced Saturday, as Joe Burrow’s status is in question for Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Here’s what you need to know:

    • Burrow first injured his calf on July 27, and tweaked it again at the conclusion of Sunday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
    • Coach Zac Taylor said Saturday that the starting QB’s status would be questionable, adding “we’ll see” regarding Burrow’s availability for the team’s Week 3 game.
    • Given the uncertainty surrounding Burrow, Cincinnati brought in McCarron and Trace McSorley for a workout Saturday.
