Very tasty food. Modern German cuisine. In addition, a chic ambience, very nicely renovated. This time I enjoyed 'Lahnsteiner lamb shoulder with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes' and a 'Topfenknödel' for dessert. Very fair price/performance ratio. There is also an excellent wine list.
A historical place full of charm. Fantastic ambience, food and great wines.
I ABSOLUTELY do not recommend this restaurant.Story time: Wishing to discover German cuisine, I went there this day with my friend. Not knowing the opening time, we went there at 11:30. A woman there politely told us that the restaurant was unfortunately not open yet, but that we could come back at 12:00, the opening time, and that there was room to eat.Given the politeness of the woman and our desire to eat German food, we decided to wait for 12:00 with great pleasure. We walked around, and we came back at 12:05. I repeat 12:05!!!At 12:05, we both entered the restaurant, happy and hungry and there... we are greeted by a waiter who looks us up and down, who before we can even finish greeting him tells us: It's full.My friend and I, quite surprised, look at the empty restaurant (obviously we were the first customers to arrive), and ask him again... is it really full? The waiter turns around, looks at the empty room, and tells us in a dry and nasty tone: yes it's full. I just told you it was full!We were surprised, yet my friend and I walked out without any complaints, and without really understanding what had happened here. We did not understand why he refused to let us eat when half an hour before we were assured that the place would be open at noon and that we could eat there… we did not understand why we were told it was full, when there was no one in the restaurant, nor did we understand why the server spoke to us in such a way…Then my friend and I looked at each other and realized our common denominator... We are asian looking.I let you judge, but for me it's a no.

The place is okay but the restaurant is such a racist place to be at. Kudos to the management there that they were able to push out internationals and making them realise that people are still not accepting other cultures. It is because of such gestures, the community as a whole hasn’t been able to grow.
This restaurant is positioned slightly below the Michelin Star category - by intention of the owner. The menu is fairly stable over time (Königsberger Klopse is always on it) - it has sub-themes and the variations are restricted to staying within the sub-theme.The ambience is great, parking is next door. In the summer time, one can sit outside and enjoy city life. There are workday lunch options that are generally very good and reasonably priced.
