Raymond Rodriguez, 82

SUN CITY —— Raymond Rodriguez, 82, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, atMenifee Valley Medical Center.

Born Nov. 5, 1923, in Cottonwood, Ariz., he lived in Sun Cityfor 15 years. He retired in 1985 after 32 years as a plantmaintenance supervisor for Norris Industries. He served in the U.S.Navy during World War II. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, campingand fishing.

Mr. Rodriguez was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond andCandida Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JuanitaRodriguez of Sun City; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and JanisRodriguez of Yorba Linda; sister, Ruth Westriecher of Alburn;grandchildren Erin and Trisha; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at6338 Green Leaf St. in Whittier. Interment will follow at 12:30p.m. at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier.

Clara Drwall, 76

DOLAN SPRINGS, Ariz. — Clara M. Drwall, 76, died Monday, Nov. 7,2005, at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.

Born June 4, 1929, in Wills, Ohio, she lived in Dolan Springsfor 12 years. She lived in the Oceanside and Vista area from 1963to 1985. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Drwall is survived by her companion, Odis Felkins of DolanSprings; daughters Judith M. Tibbetts of Page, Ariz., Teresa K.Whaley of Henderson, Nev., Jane F. Camm of Elk Grove and Sharon L.Baker of Albany, Ore.; sons Michael P. Drwall of Orlando, Fla., andJoseph F. Drwall Jr. of Camp Verde, Ariz.; 16 grandchildren; and 15great-grandchildren.

Harold Wilson, 71

ESCONDIDO — Harold E. Wilson, 71, died of a heart attack,Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, in Austin, Texas.

Born June 5, 1934, in Austin, he lived in Escondido for 45years. He was a truck driver. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953to 1957.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice ReyesWilson of Escondido; son John Garcia of Escondido; daughter andson-in-law Dianna and Ronnie Todd of Valley Center; brother MichaelWilson of Austin; grandchildren Janice, James, Sam and Brianna; andtwo great-grandchildren.

A private memorial service and cremation are planned.

Daniel Youssi, 52

POWAY – Daniel John Youssi, 52, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005.

Born Dec. 27, 1952, in Aurora, Ill., he lived in Poway for 19years. He was a sales representative for NCS Pearson for 25 years.He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Maranatha Chapel inRancho Bernardo.

Mr. Youssi is survived by his wife of six years, Amy Youssi ofPoway; father Fred Youssi of Hemet; daughters Sarah Youssi, LeahYoussi, Hannah Youssi and Rebekah Youssi, all of San Marcos, andCourtney Stepp and Carlie Stepp, both of Poway; brother andsister-in-law Jim and Sue Youssi of Batavia, Ill.; and sisters andbrother-in-law Donna and Gene Goy of Dixon, Ill., and Joan Youssiof Batavia.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21,at Maranatha Chapel, 10752 Coastwood Road in Rancho Bernardo withthe Rev. Gary Lawton officiating. A private cremation isplanned.

VISTA — Greg Walton, 54, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005.

Born Sept. 24, 1951, in Detroit, he lived in Vista for 27 years.He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Walton is survived by his companion, Rose Artiaga of Vista;sons Gregory Walton and Grecian Walton, both of Detroit, and GreggWalton of Vista; daughters Dori, Becky and Kim; brothers ArlieWalton and Vince Walton, both of Michigan; sisters Diane, Liz, Maryand Dorthy; grandchildren Reina, Keilani, Kyla and Rian; and threegreat-grandchildren.

Gilbert Cortes, 42

SAN MARCOS — Gilbert Llenes Cortes, 42, died Thursday, Nov. 17,2005, in a local hospital.

Born July 30, 1963, in Mandaue, Philippine Islands, he lived inSan Marcos for 17 years. He was an aviation machinist 1st Class inthe U.S. Navy for 17 years. He served in Operation Desert Storm andthe current Iraq War.

Mr. Cortes was preceded in death by his father, Lorenzo Cortes.He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rowena Noval Cortes of SanMarcos; mother Morita Reyes of San Marcos; sons Gilrey StanleyCortes and Gilliam Scott Cortes, both of San Marcos; and brotherRandy Reyes of San Marcos.

Viewing is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Nov. 19, andSunday, Nov. 20, at Allen Bros. Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel, 435 N.Twin Oaks Valley Road in San Marcos. Robert Naylor, 65

VISTA — Robert W. Naylor, 65, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, atTri-City Medical Center in Oceanside.

Born June 6, 1940, in Burlington, Vt., he lived in Vista for sixyears. He was self-employed. He was a member of St. Mary’s CatholicChurch.

Mr. Naylor was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Shappy, in1984. He is survived by his companion of 23 years, Linda Estrada ofVista; father Irving W. Naylor; son Bobby Naylor; daughters andsons-in-law Kim and Dave Deliberti and Kelli and Javier Nunez, allof Las Vegas; sister and brother-in-law Faith and Tom of NationalCity; and grandchildren Marlo, Lindsey, Ashley, J.D. andTaylor.

FALLBROOK — Kathleen Ann Kingsley, 59, died Wednesday, Nov. 16,2005, in Escondido.

Born Aug. 22, 1946, in Warsaw, N.Y., she lived in Fallbrook forfour years. She worked at REX Industries for four years. She was amember of Emmanuel Faith Community Church in Escondido.

Ms. Kingsley is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lindaand Bruce Black of Fallbrook; niece Dawn Salzmann; and nephewsDavid and Daniel Black.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22,at the Fallbrook Masonic Cemetery.

Elaine Bane, 64

OCEANSIDE — Elaine Eugerthia Bane, 64, died Tuesday, Nov. 15,2005.

She was born Aug. 23, 1941, in West Virginia. She was a nurse atBarbara Browne Health Service. She was a teacher’s aide at LaurelElementary School.

Mrs. Bane was preceded in death by her brothers, Willy Pattersonand Paul Patterson.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Sidney Bane ofOceanside; son Mart D. Bane of Oceanside; daughter Ingrid V. Baneof Oceanside; sisters Princine Harper of Oceanside, La ThroneiaGresham of Princeton, W.Va., and Theodoris Waterford of Chicago;and grandchildren Letisha and Gabriel.

Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and funeralservice at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at Eternal Hills MortuaryChapel.

John Norman, 71

CARDIFF BY THE SEA — John Norman, 71, died of injuries he receivedin a traffic accident, Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Palomar MedicalCenter.

Born Oct. 3, 1934, in Gladewater, Texas, he lived in Cardiff bythe Sea for eight years.

He was a general contractor and worked in Los Angeles and SanDiego counties. He was a senior airman. He enjoyed beach volleyballand two-man football.

Mr. Norman is survived by his wife of 10 years, Nancy Garside ofVista; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Melissa Norman of Gilbert,Ariz.; daughter and son-in-law Ann and Robert Nelson of Long Beach;and grandson Colton Nelson.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, atEternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside. Burial will follow at EternalHills Memorial Park.

Robert Crossan, 86

ROSSMOOR — Robert D. Crossan, 86, died of leukemia, Thursday, Nov.3, 2005, in Cypress.

Born Dec. 15, 1918, in Helena, Mont., he lived in Rossmoor for55 years. He retired in 1980 from Long Beach State University. Hetaught training secondary education teachers.

He served in the U.S. Armored Division during World War II. Hereceived his master’s degree and doctorate degree in education fromUSC. He was a member of Lutheran Church of Cypress.

Dr. Crossan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Grace Crossanof Rossmoor; son Capt. Rob Crossan serving in the U.S. Navy;daughter and son-in-law Ronda and Chris Smith of Washington;daughter-in-law Becky Crossan of Okinawa, Japan; brother JackCrossan of Arkansas; sister and brother-in-law Jean and RowleyClapperton of Oceanside; and grandchildren Julie and Keith.

Burial took place Monday, Nov. 14, at U.S. Army Memorial Park inRiverside with Capt. Crossan officiating.

Eula Smith, 87

ESCONDIDO — Eula Hazel Lee Smith, 87, died Tuesday, Nov. 15,2005.

Born April 25, 1918, in Suffolk, Va., she lived in Escondido for13 years. She was a homemaker for 60 years. She was a longtimemember of Emmanuel Faith Church, the Keenager program and was anassistant in the Ambassador Class Benevolence.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, JamesSmith.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, JacquelineCarter Lawhorn and Robert Lawhorn of Escondido; son anddaughter-in-law Fentreail and Amnah Carter of Saudi Arabia; andgrandchildren Brandon, Bridgett, Tasneim and Rahneim.

Visitation is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to the start of thefuneral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, at Emmanuel FaithCommunity Church, Building 6, 639 E. Felicita Ave. inEscondido.

Burial will be at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido.

Nancy Hinchliff, 85

ESCONDIDO – Nancy Dewire Hinchliff, 85, died of natural causes,Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at her home.

Born Nov. 19, 1919, in Cambridge, Mass., she lived in Escondidofor 38 years. She retired in 1985 after 23 years with the San DiegoCounty Welfare Department.

She was an executive secretary and administrative assistant tothe director of the Escondido Development and Training Center forthe Peace Corps.

She enjoyed gardening, traveling and genealogy.

Mrs. Hinchliff was preceded in death by her former husband,William Emerson Hinchliff, in 1994; and brother William Dewire in1999. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Peter andGaye Emerson Hinchliff of Edmonds, Wash., and Jonathan Gray andKaren Hinchliff of Escondido; daughter Susan Sterner of Escondido;brother and sister-in-law Michael and Elizabeth Dewire of Duxbury,Mass.; sister Eleanor Devereaux of Northborough, Mass.; andgrandchildren Gillian, Cody, Caroline and Gregory.

Private services with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery isplanned.

Dorral Hoover, 90

CARLSBAD — Dorral Wesley Hoover, 90, died Wednesday, Nov. 16,2005.

Born Aug. 23, 1915, in Lindsay, Okla., he lived in Carlsbad for28 years. He was a member of Carlsbad Christian Assembly Church for28 years. He remodeled the homes of his children andgrandchildren.

Mr. Hoover is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruby Hoover ofCarlsbad; sons and daughters-in-law Duane and Veronica Hoover ofSacramento and Gerald and Jessie Hoover of El Monte; grandchildrenRandall, Cheryl, Deborah, Diane, Hallie and George; and 11great-grandchildren.

Viewing is scheduled from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and funeral serviceat 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Carlsbad Christian Assembly Church,825 Carlsbad Village Drive in Carlsbad.

Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1999 ElCamino Real in Oceanside.

Walter Lee Boise Jr.

Walter Lee Boise Jr., age 86, passed away Monday, November 14,2005, at his home in Lake Elsinore, Calif. Walter was born inHarlowton, Mont., on May 26, 1919. Walter grew up and graduatedhigh school in Eagle Rock, Calif. He served in the U.S. Air Forceduring World War II and the Korean War as a pilot. For the last 15years of working Walter was employed by Scripps Hospital inEncinitas, Calif., as a maintenance engineer.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 25 years; two daughters,Dyanne of Stockton, Calif., and Christeena of Phelon, Calif.; son,Dennis of Dodge City, Kan.; four grandchildren; 11great-grandchildren; five stepchildren, Carolyn of Virginia, Garyand Dwayne of Santee, Calif., Connie and Clayette of Carlsbad,Calif., 10 step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren;nephew, Richard Ramay of Chico, Calif.; niece, AdrienneAschenbrenner of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; and many other lovingnieces and nephews. Services will be private.

Eileen Floretta Nelson

ESCONDIDO — Eileen Floretta Nelson passed away from cancer,Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, at her home.

She was born on Dec. 8, 1917, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Arthur W.Nelson, May 30, 2005. She is survived by her four children, Janice(Tom) McCarrick, Kenneth Nelson, Craig (Maureen) Nelson and DouglasNelson. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Gretchen andKevin; and two great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Megan.

The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at Resurrection Church on Conway inEscondido. A reception will follow.

Susan Dale

A remarkable woman, Susan Dale, left this life and began a newadventure on November 19, 2005.

Our dear sister will be missed by her family, her soul mates,her lovers and her friends. While she accomplished much in herlife, she would like to be remembered by her courage, her kindheart and her uncompromising loyalty to those she loved.

She was born Nov. 20, 1916, in London, Ontario, Canada. She wasin real estate sales. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority,the Westchester Women’s Club and the Oceanside Women’s Club.

Mrs. Snedecor was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E.Snedecor, May 9, 2002. She is survived by her son anddaughter-in-law, Frank E. Jr. and Linda Snedecor of Los Angeles;daughters Sandra L. Arnold of Anchorage, Alaska, and Susan A.Snedecor of Oceanside; sister and brother-in-law Margaret A. andRobert Burch of Birmingham, Mich.; grandchildren Edward Jr.,Roxanne, Frank III, Jamie and Nicholas; and fourgreat-grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, atSt. Michael’s by the Sea Episcopal Church in Carlsbad with the Rev.Fred Wood officiating. Her cremains will be scattered at sea.

OCEANSIDE — Joe Anthony Ortega, 38, died Saturday, Nov. 12,2005.

Born July 31, 1967, in Phoenix, he lived in Oceanside for morethan 20 years. He was the cofounder of DJJ whom, “without you wewouldn’t be here and you’ll be deeply missed” by his followingextended family.

LAKE SAN MARCOS Marian Katherine Jacobs, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 15,2005, at Tri-City Medical Center.

Born Oct. 18, 1920, in Van Nuys, she lived in Lake San Marcossince 1976. She was a homemaker for 60 years.

She graduated from Van Nuys High School. She was a previousmember of the Holy Cross and Rancho San Antonio Women’s Guild. Shewas a board member of the Rancho San Antonio Home for Boys.

She was the founder and president of the San Diego chapter ofChild Help USA and on their national board. She was Volunteer ofthe Year for ARC of North County. She was a member and aEucharistic minister of St. Mark’s Catholic Church in San Marcosand belonged to their Women’s Guild. She was an Oblate of St.Benedict and a Lady of the Holy Sepulcher. She was a member of theDaughters of Mary and Joseph Associates, the Auxiliary of Legionsof Mary and the Serra Club.

Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J.Jacobs, in 1984. She is survived by her son, Michael Jacobs ofModesto; daughter and son-in-law Carol and Fred Radmacher ofSutherlin, Ore.; sister Helen Morrison of Danville; twograndchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces andnephews.

The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. and funeral Masscelebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at St. Mark’s CatholicChurch in San Marcos. Interment will follow at San MarcosCemetery.

SAN DIEGO — Ranny Janicki, 52, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, in ChulaVista from complications of a stroke.

Born Aug. 24, 1953, in Long Beach, he graduated from CarlsbadHigh School in 1971.

He enjoyed surfing, travel and reading.

Mr. Janicki is survived by his sons, Ryan Janicki of San Marcosand Billy Janicki of Illinois; daughter Holly Janicki of SanMarcos; and brothers Fred Janicki of Scottsdale Ariz., and EdJanicki of Carlsbad.

A private cremation is planned.
