Apple TV+ announces a series inspired by the novel “Les boucanières”

Apple TV+ today announced a new series based on the novel The Buccaneers by Edith Wharton. There is not yet a name for the program.

Girls with money, men with power. New money, old secrets. A group of fun-loving American girls burst into the London season of the 1870s, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash as the country of the waffle is infiltrated by a refreshing disregard for centuries of tradition. Sent to secure husbands and titles, buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more than that, and saying “I do” is just the beginning…

The drama series will have the right to eight episodes. The cast will include Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse and Mia Threapleton. The buccaneers are Nan St. George (Kristine Froseth), Conchita Closson (Alisha Boe), Mabel Elmsworth (Josie Totah), Lizzy Elmsworth (Aubri Ibrag), Jinny St. George (Imogen Waterhouse) and Honoria Marable (Mia Threapleton). Katherine Jakeways is writing the script and Susanna White will be the director. Filming is taking place right now in Scotland.

Apple TV+ does not yet give a release date for the series. There are also no pictures.
