Unveiled at the same time as the Macs and Studio display, Apple’s Thunderbolt 4 Pro cable is now available in its 3 meter long variant. Until then, only the 1.8 meter model could be ordered. The prices are respectively 149 and 179 €.
It’s expensive, but these thick, braided cables allow you to take full advantage of the standard they support, with maximum speeds of 40 GBit / s and a power supply that can climb up to 100 W.
The shorter model had been skinned by ChargerLAB, which had revealed all its complexity. This is not an ordinary cable, it is rich in components and of very good manufacturing quality.
An intermediate length – 2 meters – can be found at CallDigit with its solution sold for €70. However, the 3 meters make it possible to comfortably move the Mac away from certain peripherals if necessary.
The long version of this cable is available between May 12 and 19 or in withdrawal in an Apple Store on May 19 as well.
