With nearly 22,000 registrations in June, the electric market is still doing well in France (+ 5%). “In a market for new cars in crisis (- 14.2% in June), electric motors manage to maintain a positive trend and reach a market share of 13% in June”, notes the firm AAA Data. And the most sold 100% electric model in France during the first half of 2022 is the electric Peugeot 208.
The French city car managed to overtake the Dacia Spring, which had been the top seller since the start of the year. It ends with a total of 9,711 registrations, against 9,203 for the small Romanian, which is enjoying great success thanks to its attractive prices for an electric model. This first half also confirms the enthusiasm of customers for the electric Fiat 500. She finished on the third step of the podium, with nearly 9,000 units sold.
Electric car: the government extends the ecological bonus and eases the conditions
The Tesla Model 3 has suffered from the significant increase in its prices in France since the beginning of the year. The entry-level version – by far the best-selling with us – increased by more than 9,000 euros. From then on, it only occupies fifth place, whereas it pranced in the lead last year. The Model Y SUV, on the other hand, stepped on the accelerator. Rarely present in the top 10 best sellers in recent months, it ended this first half in seventh position, thanks to very good figures in June (1,964 registrations, fourth best-selling electric cars).
Finally, note the good commercial start of the electric Renault Mégane. The 1,854 registrations recorded in June allow it to finish in tenth place in this top sales over the first six months of the year.
